Summary

New Smyrna Beach is located on Florida’s Atlantic coast, just south of Daytona Beach. It is one of the state’s most consistent beach for surfing, offering waves throughout most of the year.

Although it gets packed when conditions are good, New Smyrna and Ponce Inlet offer several different peaks and surf spots which help spread the crowds.

On most days, New Smyrna Beach is totally suitable for surfers of all skill levels as waves rarely reach enormous sizes.

When to go

The best time to surf New Smyrna Beach and Ponce Inlet, in Florida, is from September to April which kicks off with the hurricane season in autumn, all the way into the winter months. For smaller waves, the summer months are still fairly consistent and enjoyable.
